1. Create a New Project
Select the appropriate unit for your project and fill in any required details. Remember, you can proceed with the project creation just like you normally would! Once you've entered the necessary information, click on Next.
2. Uploading Files
To upload your PDF files, simply click on the Browse button. This will open a window where you can select the PDFs you want to upload.
Once you’ve selected your files, click Next. Don't worry—Bureau Works will automatically transform your PDFs into DOCX format! This means you'll be able to work with editable documents that are perfect for translation.
2.2 Usage Limits for PDF Files in Bureau Works:
Bureau Works uses the most sophisticated Adobe PDF tool to manipulate PDF files. Non-scanned documents will work perfectly 99% of the time, but scanned PDFs will always depend on the quality of the scanned document, the format, font, language, and other factors. For scanned PDFs, some engineering work may be required before uploading for translation.
To ensure smooth processing and optimal performance, here are the limits to keep in mind when working with PDF files:
- Total File Size Limit (for all documents): 100 MB
- Page Limit (Extract and Accessibility Auto-Tag): 400 pages
- Page Limit for Scanned Documents (Extract and Accessibility Auto-Tag): 150 pages
⚠️ Note: For documents with a large number of tables, page limits may be lower. If you’re working with complex layouts, consider splitting your file into smaller sections to avoid issues.
3. Select the Workflow
As you saw in Step 2, your PDF files have been successfully converted to DOCX format. You can now select the desirable workflows. Next, click on Create to finalize the project setup. You're just one step away from getting started!
4. Project Ready for Translation!
To begin your translation, click on any of the converted files to open them in the Editor. Everything is set for you to dive in!
Your file is now ready for translation! You can preview it and start working on it as needed.
