Hello there, how are you doing? It's awesome to have you here!
So, you are the new vendor that everyone is talking about, right?
I know that getting used to new things can be quite difficult at first, but I'm here to guide you through this quick journey into the basics of Bureau Works for Vendors.
I would like to invite you to our community as well: Bureau Works Community
The first thing you'll notice is the side menu on the left. Using this menu, you can access everything you need to keep up your work!
But let's not dive into details right now. This is meant to be a quick guide, right? Come on and let's cover the essentials for you to start your work!
For instance, our home page is displayed to you like this:
In the first quadrant, you are notified about your already assigned projects pending completion. In the second quadrant, you can see available tasks that you are able to claim. Finally, in the third quadrant, you can see important messages from project managers and stakeholders on your Dynamic Feed.
On the same page, you are able to see the projects that have been assigned to you by your Project Manager (1), and you can see unassigned projects that are available for linguists to claim (2).
If you desire to open a project that you're already assigned, just go to the "My Projects" tab and select the desired task. This will open up the editor tool, and you can start translating the content.
If you have more than one task in the same project, you can also join them in the editor.
As for the available tasks, you can claim the ones that you desire to work on. You can claim individual tasks or multiple tasks for the same project, as shown below:
When working on a task, you'll notice that they're divided into segments. Each segment can be translated separately, maintaining the organization of the content. By default, you'll see the source content on the left and the translated content to the right.
After translating the source text, remember to confirm the segment! You can either click on the tick mark on the right or use the keyboard shortcut ctrl + enter. If you like to work fast, check out our article about Shortcuts.
Every time you confirm a segment, the progress bar will fill up. Once you have confirmed all segments and are sure about the quality of your translation, you can finally deliver the task.
Pro tip: we cover a lot of details about our editor in other articles in our Help Center. You can get a broad overview of The Bureau Works Editor, or you may go a little bit more specific with The Bureau Works Editor Menu for Vendors.
Once all the tasks have been delivered, the Project Manager will be able to deliver the project as a whole and then finally generate the invoices. This means it's time to earn some cash from your hard work! While your project is not invoiced, you'll be able to locate them in the "Delivered Tasks" tab.
As soon as a task is invoiced, you'll be able to see it on the "Invoiced tasks" tab.
Finally, to accompany your payments, you can navigate through the side menu and select the "Payables" tab, which will display the amount you have to receive from your tasks.
That's basically your project's life cycle: you get them, you deliver them, and then you get your earnings!
But hey, this is nothing but a quick guide. You can find much more information about working as a Vendor in Bureau Works in the Vendor's Portal. I strongly recommend you go there and check it out!
