This article explains how to create a new translation project on Bureau Works, how to submit files/assets and how to get quotations for the job.
To create a new project, just select the option "Start a New Project" at the home screen on Bureau Works (see image below).
Basic Project Info
The next step is to include all the basic project information, as per the image at the end of this section.
Make sure you give your project an appropriate and descriptive name. Then, also provide:
- Delivery date and time
- Notes or instructions - please provide contextual information and descriptions which might help the translators do a better job.
- Original language and target languages
- Service - the type of service is being requested
Uploading Files to the Project
After providing all the necessary basic information, it is time to add the source files with the context that needs to be translated. You can also include files that contains references, which should serve as guidelines or contextual information for the translators.
This is a very simple process on Bureau Works. You simply choose and upload the appropriate files as per the image below.
When adding files to a Project, make sure the file name does not contain the
characters '[', ']' ';' or '!' as they are not supported.
If you are having issues uploading files whose names contain any of those
characters, try replacing them and try again.
Summary (Review and Confirm)
Once you finish uploadling files and click "Next", Bureu Works will present the summary of all the information so that you can review before confirming.
The system will also pre-process the files to detect the size of the job and will generate an initial cost estimate (image below).
At this point you are can choose to "Approve Quote" based on the summary displayed, in which case the project will be sent to production. Or you can "Request Quote" to receive a more detailed quote from Bureau Works production team.
