Job arrival frequency
If you've just started and it seems like no jobs are arriving in your dashboard, don't despair!
There are many possible reasons why you are not seeing any jobs right away:
- Seasonal or economic reasons: our business fluctuates depending on our clients' demand, that's why it's hard to predict when we will have jobs available for you.
- Your rate may be too high – we allow vendors to set their own rates; this means that each vendor in our database works with a different rate, and vendors with similar experience but lower rates may be prioritized based on the project’s profitability targets. If you think your rate is too high, you can change it yourself in "my Account'.
- Others accepted the project before you – most of our projects are highly time sensitive and we work on a “first come, first served” basis.
- The project particularly requires knowledge of a specific field.
Finding and accepting jobs
Please often check your Works dashboard, available jobs will appear there in a new tab where you can check them out and grab them if they suit you.
We are actively working on desktop notifications and an app for your phone to make it easier for you to see and grab the jobs. Until these are ready, please do check your dashboard often as jobs will pop up at any time of day or night.
This is what your dashboard will look like when you have job offers, completed jobs and invoices. If you're just starting out, your dashboard will look very empty as the tabs will only show up if they have content.
Click on any job in the offered jobs tab, and you will see details about the word count, deadline and a sample of the text in the next screen.
Click on 'I want it' if you want to take the job.
Please only accept jobs if you are absolutely certain you can keep to the deadline! Your quality assessment and our relationship with our clients depend on it!
If you are repeatedly late in delivering, your quality assessment will suffer and you will not be eligible to receive new jobs.
Please tick all boxes and tick 'I got it' to go to the next screen. If you don't want to accept the job, click 'Nevermind'.
Please note that clicking on 'Nevermind' means you decline the project, it will disappear from your offered jobs and you will not be able to select it again later.
Once you have accepted, you can enter our CAT tool through the dashboard.
Your dashboard in the CAT tool will look like this, for more information on how to work with the CAT tool, check out the how to section in this helpdesk.
