For this translation, your reward would be 379.1x your net ratePayment for all jobs is calculated by multiplying your per-word rate by the net rate provided in the CAT tool log file. The CAT tool applies different formulas to set the net rate for each type of job (e.g. translation, reviewing, etc.)
Bureau uses this CAT tool in order to leverage the Translation Memory (TM) for our clients as well as for you.
Thanks to this, the TM and Machine Translation (MT) which is filled out in the strings you are asked to translate, will be of better and better quality the more the TM is used and built upon. You can use the MT as a guideline, while correcting and adapting the text to a good quality translation.
The net word rate is based on the leverage of the TM, the net word rate will change depending on if a word or string are completely new or already in the TM. That means that the total word rate may be much larger than the net word rate. The job offers in your dashboard will always contain the net word rate and percentages, so you can have an idea of the average pay for the job.
You will find these net rates in the job offer in your dashboard:
You can also check the word count when you are working in the CAT tool, in the left bottom corner. For example this file has 2337 - 2260 = 77 net words to translate:
In case you can't find the word count in the job offer, please do send a message to [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Translation rates
For translation jobs, we use the CAT tool's post-editing log to calculate the payment based on how much of the Translation Memory and Machine Translation output was edited. This means that there may be a small variation between the net rate you saw in the job offer, and the actual net rate which is calculated after you finished editing the job.
Repetitions are not factored into payment, since repeated segments are automatically confirmed in the CAT tool after the original segment is confirmed. 101% and 100% segments may be locked, in which case you won't be able to edit them. If they are not locked and you find something to correct, your correction will be calculated at the 95-99% rate. All and any changes you make are calculated and rewarded.
Memsource translation net rate percentage table:
Workflow: Translation
Percentage paid of full rate
Match Type | TM | MT |
Repetitions | 0 | 0 |
101% | 0 | 0 |
100% | 0 | 30 |
95-99% | 10 | 40 |
85-94% | 20 | 70 |
75-84% | 30 | 100 |
50-74% | 50 | 100 |
0-49% | 100 | 100 |
As an example, the total word count of a file may be 3000 words, while the post-editing net rate may be 1000 words. In this case, your payment will be 1000x your per-word rate.
For this translation, your reward would be 379.1x your net rate!
Review rates
For review jobs, we use the CAT tool's compare log to calculate the payment based on how much of the translation output was edited. Note: Please, keep in mind that 100% and 101% segments are already approved by the client and don’t need changes, so, they are not included in the Net Rate Calculation.
Example
, for the review your reward would be 671x your net rate.
