We support the translation of content from your Marketo account with our connector. In order to have the connector configured to your Marketo, you need to talk to the Bureau Works Tech team.
But before that, you need to set up an API only user in Marketo for BW APIs to be able to access your content there. The profile creation steps are described in the next section:
Setting up a Profile for Bureau Works APIs
Creating a Role for BW API
First think you need to do is to create a new User/Role for BW in the Admin menu under Security > Users & Roles > Roles > New Role.
At this point you should provide a Name for the new Role (you can use something like "API Access Role"). Also you will need to select the following permissions:
- Approve Assets
- Read/Write Assets
Once everything is done, hit the button "Create" (see image below for more details).
Associate the new Role to the API User
Now that you have created the new role with the appropriate permissions that will be required for the connector, you need to create a dedicated user. Then you should associate that user exclusively with that role.
To create a new user, under the menu option Admin, go to Security > Users & Roles > Invite New User. At this point, you should inform Email, First Name, and Last Name for the API only user and click next.
At the next step you will mark this user as an API only user and, very importantly, associate the role you created for the BW API (previous Section). See image below for a better understanding:
Then, you can finish the process by clicking "Next".
At this step you will need to create a Service, which will be associated to the API only user your created before (previous section).
To do that, under the Admin menu, go to Integration > LaunchPoint > Installed Services > New and you will see the following screen:
Fill out the information "Display Name", "Services" and "Description". Notice that at the "API Only User" you must inform the email that you provided when created the API Only user as described in the previous section.
Copy Credentials to Provide Bureau Tech Team
After you have created the Service that will be associated to the Bureau Works/Marketo connector, you need to get the credentials and provide them to the BW Tech team.
There are two pieces of information that you need to get:
1) Client Id / Client Secret - Under Integration > Launchpad > Installed Services select the Services you created and click on View Details. You will the see the Client Id and Client Secret (see image below).
2) REST API URL - Under Admin > Integration > Webservices on section REST API copy the information as highlighted in the image below:
The credentials and API url should be provided to the Bureau Works team (using safe communication channels), so they can set up your Marketo Connector.
Check your Projects in Bureau Works
Once the Bureau Works team have created you Marketo configuration and the connector is active, you can visit https://bureau.works (or your custom BW instance, usually something like companyname.bureau.works) using your credentials and check the status of your projects.
Feel free to reach out to us and talk to us about how to successfully tackle your Marketo projects!
