Bureau Works - PDF QA Tool
The PDF QA Tool is a feature that allows the vendors and PMs to Preview and Review/QA (add comments and markups) the uploaded PDF files.
The main goal is to optimize the QA processor for PDFs, allowing all the changes required to a PDF to be:
a) Easily passed from the linguist to the DTP team responsible for making the adjustments to the original file, to generate an updated version of the PDF file
b) Create a track with the changes requested (and by who)
c) Have visibility and control on the PDF versioning, when multiple iterations are required until the PDF gets approved
How to use it?
In order to upload a PDF file to be reviewed, the Project Manager must go to the Reference and Review Files
tab, click on Upload File to Locale
, choose the target language and select the PDF file to be uploaded (the PDF file will be available at any workflow steps for that language):
The PDF file to be QA'd can be accessed from the Bureau Works Editor. The PM or the assigned Vendor will need to click on the PDF icon on the right side of the lateral menu, then on Available Files
, and select the file based on the name/upload date (in case there are multiple versions/files uploaded)
After selecting the file, it will load and you will be able to visualize it.
Once the file is opened, you will have a few options to navigate and add comments/markups to the PDF file, which will be available to any users that have access to that language in the project:
1 - Visualize in the Thumbnails form, Outline, Annotations, or Bookmarks
2 - Navigate between pages and check the total amount
3 - Navigate using the Pan Mode
4 - Zoom out and Zoom in
5 - Fit Width
6 - Annotations
7 - Print
8 - Search Document
9 - Export
If you open the Annotations (6), some new options will appear:
a. Drawing, Freeform Highlight, Text Highlighter, and Eraser
b. Sign (where you can also store the signature)
c. Image or Stamp
d. Note
e. Text
f. Line
